Learn Ealing continues to deliver courses face-to-face and through its online offer. We will deliver lessons and support learners through the use of Google Education suite, Zoom, Skype and other digital platforms.

In today's competitive job market, it's crucial to stand out from the crowd, so why not join our course.You'll gain the knowledge and skills necessary to make the process more manageable, learn how to create a professional CV, write a compelling cover letter, and develop effective job search strategies.  

Course Outline
If you are you looking for work and would like to improve your job application skills and write a cover letter for a specific job to make a strong application? Then this is the workshop for you, it will focus on specific cover letter writing, meeting job and person specifications for a job in an area.

Aims of the course
- Explore your specific job application needs - View example CVs and Cover Letters - Explore how to tailor each CV and Cover Letter for specific roles - Explore what you need to know about an organisation and job before the interview and how to research such information - Explore potential interview questions and discuss ways of answering - Explore ways of presenting yourself professionally online - Discuss and agree on some ‘top tips’ for the day of the interview - Decide what technology and background checks to do before the interview

- Research the job(s) and organisation(s) you are applying to - Prepare to answer competency based questions - Prepare to present yourself professionally - Prepare for the day: the technical side; do’s and don’ts.

What you will learn on this course
Each session is to begin with a general introduction to the aims of the workshop. This workshop will focus on preparing for interviews online. We will explore researching the organisation and job you are applying to, potential questions, presenting yourself professionally, being prepared to talk about your experience and qualifications, questions to ask and the technological side to prevent mishaps!

How you will learn on the course
- All the learners and the tutor are to meet online for the sessions, using Zoom. Please note that you will need to download Zoom to gain access, and to have an active email account to receive information about the course, password and reminders. - Each session is to start with a general introduction. - At the end of the sessions, you will be asked to complete a survey.

Platform for the course/workshop
This course/workshop will be held on Zoom. You can join by clicking on the link within the joining instructions. Once you have joined, please turn on your camera. Learn Ealing has an E-Safety Policy and Procedure which can be requested at any time for further information.

What do I need for these sessions? Access on your phone or laptop to Zoom. How to video for Zoom: Join a Zoom meeting - A safe and quiet room; other devices switched off or on silent. - Fully charged or charging phone/ laptop battery - A notepad and a pen/pencil

Your Tutor
Hannah Copeland has taught ESOL, Functional skills English, Maths, Science and IT to groups of and individual adults and young learners for over sixteen years in London and online. After graduating from the University of Reading in 1997 with a BA Joint Honours in Italian with French she trained as an English teacher in Brighton, taught in Europe and specialised as a Further Education teacher at the University of Westminster in London and ESOL specialist with the University of Cambridge and College of West London. She is currently studying for an MA in Education, Development and Social Justice and is passionate about helping people achieve their educational and life goals.
